*yawns* Huh?  Oh what??

*looks back over the thread* If "the Force" is not meant to be used for others, than why do we exist at all?  Obviously, if "the Force" is meant to keep everything in the universe(meh, we'll say Cosmos since Cosmos seems to entail multiple universes if you believe in multiple dimensions) in tact, it would HAVE to be used for others, and not just ourselves.

There was a tale in one of the movies (3rd?) where Palpatine tells Anakin of a sith lord that sought out the power to keep people from dying.  OBVIOUSLY you missed this, because if you think about it- this sith wanted to use "the Force" for others, his pleasure was merely a plus.

If you think of yourself first, then there will be no time to think of others.  After a while, you will lose the time even to think of yourself.  Helping yourself is useless and a waste of time.  Improving the world around you will ultimately improve the world for you, but it also improved the world for others.  Thus, you should think of others first, as the rewards will then find their way back to you.

Alright, that makes a little more sense. Smiley

And you're right, you should think of yourself first, but even this is dependent upon your belief system.  I do so enough to ensure I am capable of helping others-but this is primarily because I'm a lightie.  I enjoy helping those around me-it gives me motivation in this life.

I see it as a balance.  Help yourself before you help others, but only in moderation on both counts, and with good judgement.

As a Dark Jedi myself,  I can attest that you are quite plainly, crazy.
