Hey, reading the Forum i noticed that there are many spam posts and posts from people that haven't been on line in this forum for more than half a year -- i just wounder if this forum is almost dead or if that is the general problem with Jedi boards that people don't stay for long and lets say have about 50 posts. Please don't get me wrong, of course it is best to have more quality than quantity. I just wanted to know how many Members are still active in this particularly Forum and also i would like to know how many Jedi's there are (roughly) worldwide? (guessed is good enough for me Smiley )

I am new as well but to my understanding some of these people have known each other for quite a while and perhaps they have said all they had to say to each other for a time.

I can speak for 3 people and say that some people are still here.

Perhaps the site admin could send out  email to remind all the members that the site is still here.  i would think that with the release of the clone wars on dvd perhaps more people would start talking about the show and more jedi would start to show up but perhaps not.

cookie you sort of arrived at the wrong time. this website's been through a lot and the previous forum (the largest of its time) closed down, got lost, etc. Then people moved on to another site, which closed down. Then moved on to another (free) forum, which closed down as well because it wouldn't be free anymore.
The reasons why all these sites (and many more) closed down is because there was too much pressure on the admins (the admin/moderator team on TJW was massive). TJW's original admin even received legal threats from a previous member.

Apparently the current admin doesn't want to get too involved and experimented to see if the community would auto-manage. It's obviously failing.
But we're supposed to get a brand new site. It's just not coming very fast.

Either way, whatever you do in the community keep in mind that all sorts of people end up here (the spammers are fairly harmless in comparison). Jedi websites are a good representation of the internet: 49% crap, 49% weirdos.

I'm in and out, Hannigan and Ren are probably the most active here.  But Angel is climbing her way up there Smiley.

If you are looking for a site that has more activity, I'd suggest going through the links at Volund's Database and looking until you find an order you think fits.  Some of them aren't active anymore, though.  And on others, you'll probably find more links to active communities.

But...lots of activity might not be your thing.  If that is the case, Angel, Ren and some of the others that run in and out of here are great sources of information.  Plus, you can explore the library here. Wink

Can the admin send a email reminder to all the members that the site is up and running?

This may bring back some people.  My Jedi site gets a good number of hits per day I will post a link there sometime this weekend.

If WE want this site to be active then WE need to do something.

there are other jedi sites that have 4 or 5 people on them (funny enough all site masters) and well sadly this is common.

Lets be honest the jedi community has distroyed itself in many ways.  The Jedi Community started accepting everyone who claimed to be a Jedi a Jedi no matter what their lives showed and that started a great deal of in fighting.  3 years ago I said if we follow the do what you want and call yourself a jedi mindset it would distroy us and well here we are.

Do not get me wrong, I do not wish to sound negative as I believe there are still a number of people who are currently walking the Jedi path and I believe that as time passes we will all find each other once again.

Just to add in there are also a number of people like myself, the Jedi path was a jumping off point into my real path. I would have never learned about all the other paths without coming through the Jedi path and learning about that. It transitioned me into my Buddhist path which has resulted in me not really doing much at all on Jedi sites anymore as I participate on more Buddhist based sites now. Though I can't stop passing through the Jedi sites here and there..lol.
